I do that, and i find it much easier then using canon's software. I use ACDSee 8.0 on my PC and i just import them like i would normally like accessing a regualr disk. ACDSee 8 is an awesome program only like 40$ at most at CompUSA EOS 5Dmk3x2 | 24L | 50L | 135L

Has it worked before on this laptop? If not, I'm sure it's a compatibility issue with win2000. Frankly, if it were me, I'd just get an inexpensive usb card reader. With all of the digital cameras I've owned over the last 5 years, I've never once used direct camera to computer connection. A card reader is much faster, and more importantly, less trouble prone.

Does it come up with the found new hardware dialogue? Personally, i see little point in using the camera to download pictures so.... buy a card reader...! If you downloaded, you may have gotten the wrong one. If you were installing from CD, you should have got the right one. Jon

I think Canon should take all the discs out of their boxes and slip in a card reader instead - much more useful! Canon 6D
