two white Peonys! from our garden! (thought they were Poppys but the wife says differently!!!

The sharpness and DOF is good, but I think the lighting is a little harsh. Might have been better if you waited until later in the day for softer light. Or you could have used a diffuser (even a white t-shirt) to soften the light on the subject.

thanks! yeah, i have a diffuser but cant seem to hold it right, its usually all in the way, in the frame and all...and it was taken at about 1:30 - 2:00 with full sun!

Try using a remote trigger cable on your camera. It will allow you to hold the diffuser without having to be behind the camera. You can also use two long sticks to hold the diffuser. Sharpen the tips of the sticks and shove them in the ground and then balance the diffuser on them.
