Hi again!

I went to take some more pics to ilustrate an issue that I brought up earlier on and my viewfinder went suddenly dark and now my camera wont shoot any pics. Everthing else seems to be working, it just wont take the picture, any ideas? It's a Canon D 20.

Thanks!

Nathalie

Maybe your mirror broke/fell out, or maybe whatever lens you're using is stuck "shut".

Yes....... It should be easy to tell.. Just take the lens off and look.. If the mirror is askew, it will be apparent. If the iris in the lens is stuck, then removing it will allow light in..

Thanks for your help and replies, I really appreciated it.

I put a Canon lense on the camera and everything seems to working just fine :)

There must be something wrong with the Sigma lense. Now I wonder if it Is worth getting checked out or repaired. Anyhow I'm just happy it's not the camera.

Thanks again!
Nathalie

Glad to hear everything's fine. Sounds like the iris was stuck shut on the Sigma. Darn third party lenses.

It may be an electrical contact problem between the lens and camera as well. Make sure that the electrical contacts on the lens are clean. Try it again. If the same lens causes problems again, then it is likely a problem with the lens as you said before.

Sometimes, these issues pop up once, and then never occur again. I've had similar happen one time on my 10D with a Sigma 70-200. I kept trying to repeat the problem, and it never happened again.
