Hi, I'm new here, just have a quick question, I did a couple searches and couldn't find anything, found some close, but not exactly.
Anyways, I just purchased a canon 350d, and I've been loving it.
Tonight, I don't know why, but I decided to look in the CF slot, and I see a pin, bent over.
Now, I do not use excessive force, and I know which way the card goes in. I am very very careful with my cameras. I have used CF cards before, and never have bent a pin.
The camera still works fine, but I am thinking that I should probably have this replaced.
I am wondering if anyone knows if this is something that is sometimes covered under warranty by canon.
I know that they could simply claim that it was abuse on my part, and that would be that, but I'm hoping that Canon is a little easier to work with.
Anyways, any answers would help ease my mind, and help me make a decision on whether or not to send it to them to get fixed.
Thanks,
Mark
I eventually had to have it completely replaced with my store warranty at bestbuy. The problem was, they didn't just take the camera and gave me a new one, instead it was a painfully difficult ordeal and quite humiliating as they thought I was jamming my card in there wrong or something....they treated me like a dumb kid!!!!
Eventually, I got annoyed and called my father (no one messes with him) He came into Bestbuy in his expensive business suit (looking a lot more important than me) and instantly talked them into replacing my camera that very day. As for Canon, I called there first thing, and they were going to take way too long to fix it.
, Canon Rebel XT/350D, Canon EF 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III zoom Lens, Sunpak 64.6" tripod, a really fat wish list :::...
. At least I can still use my 35mm. But I really love using the XT, so much fun, and I get what I consider to be great shots, I just do it for a hobby.
yay.
