My wife and I decided to do some wine tasting. There are a bunch of wineries and vineyards here in Oregon and most of them are open year-round for tastings. But it seems that wine tasting is a very popular thing to do here on Memorial Day weekend. Here's a photo of a friend trying a couple of different wines at one of her favorite vineyards.

Photo was taken with 1D MkI/EF 17-35 f/2.8L combo. Quality=RAW, mode=Av Priority, Av=f/3.2, ISO=1250, focal length=35mm. Photo was converted to monochrome via Digital Photo Professional, and noise cleaned up via Noise Ninja. Slight crop via PS7.

I like the picture bokeh.
She seems to be enjoying the wine bouquet.
Nice shot. :)

Here are a couple of my wife. At this point, we have already been through about 2 vineyards and have sampled about 3-4 wines at each... so she was pretty "happy". Otherwise she would never have let me photograph her. These shots were tough for me because I didn't bring my flash, and it was overcast. Luckily I was shooting in RAW so I was able to adjust the WB in DPP and pretty much save them. It's amazing how much WB can affect the total look of an image.
Both were shot with 1D MkI/EF-17-35 f/2.8L combo, Quality=RAW, Mode=Av priority, Av=f/3.2, ISO=200, focal length=35mm. Both were processed through DPP, and Noise Ninja.

Don't understand why women don't want to be photographed, my wife's the same way. Tell her I said she's beautiful, no need to be camera-shy.

PeaPicker, jsimon724, calicokat... thanks for the great comments. I showed my wife the photos and she likes how they came out.

Very nice. I like the color one especially. Feels so clean and fresh like the northwest tends to be.

Funny you should say that... it downpoured the evening before.

I'm not an expert, but I do live in Sonoma County and have had my share of wine. I think you should tell your friend she should try them one at a time :D

I also like the color picture the best.

Yeah, I think Jen was comparing her sample to the one my wife was trying at the time. I like wine just fine, but it's not my thing... that's why I was the one shooting photos. Besides, a 1D would be rather hard to handle while tipsy.

Thanks for all of the great comments everyone! My wife likes how that photo came out.
