I like the sky, and the fact that your shooting into the sun didn't darken their faces (I'm guessin' fill flash?).

The background leaves a lot to be desired, though. I find myself looking at what cars are in the lot.

The only other criticism I'd have is that the guys with the Slipknot shirts should do a wardrobe check. They need to be promoting their band, not a band that already has a recording contract...

I like it as well, they do need to get rid of the "other band" shirts. I think a little more fill flash would have helped. You could always do a mask and lighten the guys and then merge them to keep the background exposure the same?

I don't really agree with them about them needing to change shirts; even famous bands are always showing their love for other bands with their shirts and such. The only thing is it might seem silly for them both to be wearing slipknot shirts. As for the shot, I don't like the background being such a big part of the shot. Thus, I cropped it as such:

That's just a suggestion. Another thing I would try to do next time is either get them all to look at the camera, or get none of them to look at the camera.

Minolta Old Film SLR
Canon Powershot a95.

It looks so much better cropped. In the larger photo, the background is very distracting in so that the focus isn't on the band members.

I'm an old person so I'd prefer that they all either be looking at the camera (as two are) or they all be looking somewhere else. The problem with the crop is that it loses exactly the sense of space that I liked in the first, although it is better than the cars and pedestrian ramp. Having tried to shoot "a band picture", maybe a bandtrait (like sportrait) [as opposed to "in concert" shots] I know it is tough. Everybody wants something with "the vibe" but there isn't a clear agreement on what will capture the vibe or what the vibe should even be ... and on and on. To have gotten them this organized is in itself a miracle! :-)
