nice cat shots everybody!:) I dont own a cat because my mum is allergic to them. I do think they are beautiful animals and I was skating down the road when i saw this cat laying on some concrete in the afternoon for warmth I guess. This is the only cat photo taken.

thats a beautiful looking cat, my grandma has a cat almost identical, maybe they are distant relatives

My big furballs won't sit still for the camera, however there are many shops in our little town that have "watch cats"- they have gotten used to me stopping by early in the am to shoot reflections in their windows and come to meet me. Each of the following has a "mate" I can't quite capture- they are usually trying to paw through the glass to get some lovin'.
Gonna have to visit during business hours so I don't have to shoot through glass (and so the other two get the attention they ask me for.)!
here are a couple both taken on my "Nothing but macro" walk- tried to get as much of them as I could without changing the 70-300 from its macro setting.

Frame shop kitty-

My black monster when he followed me into a field. I wanted to photograph a pheasant and he wanted to eat it. BTW, he has caught them before.

To all you black cat owners...

What exposure settings do you find yourself dialing in?
Aperture, Shutterspeed, ISO, Exposure Comp. (most important to me)?
and what do you meter off of? The entire scene with matrix metering, or partial or spot metering?

thanks
