I love this digital photography age. No..wait...I hate this digital age.... because it takes more of my time in front of a computer instead of being out shooting while my favorite lab does the proccesing for me as when I shot film. I've read this over and over here and on every other forum I've been on.

Question......Are there labs where I can send my umprocessed files to and let them process the images?
Now I fully understand that most everyone wants to process their own but think about this for a minute. Did you all process your own film so that it was to your liking or did you hand over your film to a lab and let them do it AND you were happy with the results? Why should digital be so different. Why have I not heard of labs that will take your media files (CF, CD, DVD) and process and print just like the old days. This way I can spend my time with clients instead of hours and hours in front of a computer.

I heard a rumour that http://www.whcc.com (external link) might do it, but i'm not sure about that.

May cost a bit more for them to do your post processing, and i'd never send my CF card id back it all up on my computer and then put them onto DVD and send that to the lab - get a quote before anything though it may end up costing a few hundred? Im only guessing - as i asked for extra's like colour correction and getting my name put on all the proofs and it ended up being a bit more pricey than i expected.

i send to whcc. i have never heard of them letting you send the card in. I send my files in folders and put them into ftp and send them off over the net. I really like them and have been super happy with how fast i get everything back. then again i am in WI and they are in MN we are about 1.5 hours apart. Customer service is excellent!

Why is it so hard to just burn the files to a DVD and send it the the lab? I would NOT send my CF card to anyone.

I rather send a 50 cent DVD than a $200 CF card.
