Hi all,
Have any of you ever used a Powershot Pro1, or any g series cameras to do a studio shoot with? I am curious as to how well or even not quite as well did that type of setup work. Also if possible, and if you don't mind, could you post a couple pictures from the shoot.

I am wanting to try this type of setup but i am unsure if it would work or not, and i don't know of anyone who has tried it.

Thanks so much and all of you please have a wonderful week.

Art

Thanks all and "HAPPY SHOOTING",
Art

I remember that CharlesU once had problems with his main camera and shot some very attractive nudes with his G series (think it was a G2 or G3). Unfortunately, I don't have a link.

Best regards,
Andy

I just shot some outside shots with my G5 using a flash........I was going for a studio quality but its hard when you have one lens to work with.....And your not so talented! I would think you could get some very nice shots in a controlled environment and everything just right.

My "glamour" pictures......Yeah, right :)

I have the pro 1 I have done many outside photo shoots with no problems but I have not tried the studio portraits because I dont have a studio. Hopefully in the near future I will have a studio.
The pro 1 is a great portrait camera.I am very pleased with the results I have been getting with it.

I know someone who is working in a home studio with his pro1...very nice pictures.

He is not a member of this froum eventhough I have directed him here many times.

Anyhow, I have used my G6 (which is about the same as pro1) and had some great results with a natural light(by the way shots taken with natural light I love better).

A link to my shots...

As long as you have a way to fire your strobes you should be fine. Preferably the camera would have a hot shoe so you can use a hot shoe to PC adapter to sync up with your lights. The onboard flash can be used to fire your strobes, but mixing the 2 sources isn't such a good idea.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Here's a studio shot I did with a G6. (It's actually a self-portrait.) I used quartz video lighting (continuous rather than flash) for it. The only disadvantage I see to using a Pro 1/G6 for studio work is the same as any other shot: the shutter lag can cause you to miss a great expression.
