Pacific Tree Frog

The sound of frogs is everywhere around my neighborhood these days. For little animals, they can make a lot of noise. I found this little guy hiding in a rock wall between my house and the neighbors. I do mean little -- his body was just about an inch long. He was trying to hide from my weedwhacker, and then from my 580 on top of my 20D. The hole he picked was about six inches above the ground, so composition and lighting was a bit of a challenge. Next time I'll try for a little more depth of field.

Beautiful! Poison Dart frogs are my favorite, and this reminds me a bit of one of those. By the way did you use your 60mm for this? As it looks really sharp. I guess the flash helped a lot though in bringing out all those contrasts and texture of his skin.

60mm Macro -- about 6 to 8 inches away from him, hard to say for sure since it was such an awkward position. ISO 100, 1/60, f/4.0. Without the flash, it would have been impossible.

great colors.. tree frogs are pretty cool!
