Thanks! I absolutely love the lens. With the 'soft focus' set to 0, it is a normal 135mm lens with a 2.8 diaphragm. Sharp wide open, and compared to the 135mm f/2.0, it was dirt cheap. Got it on ebay for $160. A lot of people get put off by the 'soft focus' without ever realizing that it is an optional feature that doesn't have to be used. Without it, it is a just a great 135mm lens.

You can try to shoot candid, and then show her the best shots and prove to her that you have the skill/artistic sensibility to capture her in her most beautiful moments. Once she's seen enough of the gorgeous results, she'll relax and allow you to shoot her whenever, basically granting you full press credentials to get all paparazzi on her whenever and wherever.

Well, at least it worked for me. YMMV.

Nice composition and balance of exposure of subject and background. Maybe the candles can be slightly brighter for even more natural looking balance?

Hey Joey, how come many of your posts linking to Flickr shows up as "This photo is no longer available"? Is it a glitch with how Flickr photos are embedded inside of forum posts?

very pretty wife! that second shot is excellent! Thanks for advice on mine. she is funny, and will send me emails with risque/naughty selfies when i am traveling, but if I try to get her there with my camera, denied. I think she is afraid of the sharpness from DSLR=).

usually i dont post to these due to my work not being up to par as the rest of you but thought.. WTH...
