Thanks ... The shape is in the Confucian Symbol of Luck and Prosperity. It was a typical design for windows & doors constructed for the Vietnamese "Kinh" royal palaces and tombs in the 1800's. "Kinhs" are the majority ethnic group in Viet Nam (about 87% of the population); followed by the Tày, Mường, H'mong, and Khmer Krom which are mostly indigenous mountain people. Many H'mong people now live in the US, especially in Minnesota and Michigan, they fought alongside US soldiers during the Viet Nam war and were granted refugee status during the 1980's.
