Both of these are lovely. Number two pose is very cute!

How much if you don't mind me asking?

I'm not too keen on ordering film online, I'm worried the X-raying customs do might damage the film. Hopefully this is just a baseless fear, but I'd wish someone would either confirm it or disabuse me.

Portra here ain't particularly cheap either: https://www.vistek.ca/search/-Kodak/portra.aspx (external link)

Neither is Ektar: https://www.vistek.ca/search/ektar.aspx (external link)

Ah well, just don't use Fuji for portraits. ;)

Holy cow! Do my eyes deceive me? $25 Canadian for a roll of 135? Why is it so much more expensive than 120?

In that case it is relatively cheap where I am compared to that link. $12 USD per roll of 135.

Check out the rates here. looks way more decent that what we both have.

The dollar's rate exchange is to blame. Even ordering from B&H wouldn't help in this case.

We were all set to take the boat out for a relaxing Sunday, but then the boat had other ideas...wife wanted a pic in her "boating" outfit.

Thanks for the info. I did run into a problem with a roll of Ektar that made me begin suspecting X-ray damage done by either customs or couriers. So as not to hijack this thread, I posted the problem in the film thread: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=18197488

Sometimes it's hard to choose between color or B/W. What do you prefer in this case?

Ooh, I see what you mean. I'm going to choose B&W by a slight margin.

Colour. Because the blues contrast nicely with the greens of the background, making her stand out. In the B&W image, she gets a bit lost in the background.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
