Well, I broke down and bought the 30D. After holding it in my hand, I could not resist. Stupid sexy body.

Nice. Congrats. I refuse to hold anything I can't afford to buy on the spot.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I did exactly the same thing myself on Memorial Day week-end. Walked out with a 30D instead of the XT I went in there for. So far, I'm plenty pleased. I specifically asked the saleman NOT to take that Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L off the shelf. Holding that sucker could have been my ticket to the guest bedroom.

You know, you're right! Never hold anything you can't buy or can't afford!

Last summer I went to the camera shop and held a 20D! That did it! I ordered one a month later.

A month ago I went to the same shop: I held a 100-400 and a 70-200 f/2.8 IS. I instantly wanted both. I didn't want to leave without one. But, I didn't have the available cash so I left and went home. I didn't sleep much without thinking, I want a white lens!

3 weeks later I ordered the 100-400 and WOW, I love it!

That's what I get for holding camera equipment!

I fell in love with it before I even held it just from reading about it and seeing pictures of it. When it was in my hands....well you know. :)

Congrats!

That's the hardest part. Once you know how good L is then trust me you don't want anything less.

You know I have seen the 30D and that nice large screen on the back and I think hmmm perhaps a upgrade is worth it. But na, the 10D still works well for me.
