Unfortunately my sensor needs cleaning (though I'm damned if I can see where the dust is) and have noticed the following product:

http://www.warehouseexpress.com …/cleaning/greenclean.html (external link)

I'm not sure if this is entirely safe but would like other people's thoughts on this if possible.

As for the WarehouseExpress I am not overly impressed as I've ordered the 10xPec pads + eclipse fluid and now have received an email saying its not in stock 'but will be sent out when we get it'. When queried further to an estimated lead time they 'We don't know, we'll send it when we get it.'. It would be nice for a company to actually get off their backside and attempt to find out. Anyway rant over. ;)

Mark

(5D camera btw).

EDITED FOR CORRECT LINK (Mark).

The reason you can't see the dust is because it isn't dust, its frozen condensation caused by your Artic location North of Watford. All you have to do is move South, and the problem will melt away.... :-)

Seriously though, you say you can't see the dust... maybe if you took some snaps of some A4 paper, and see if the dust shows up in the same place on consecutive images, then it would prove it is dust, and maybe even give you an idea where to look on the sensor..?

Try blasting it with a Rocket Blower before doing anything manual to the sensor. Don't use compressed air cans, as they can leave residue on the sensor and make it worse.

Thanks for the reply, I totally forgot about this thread. Doh! :o

As it happens, I obtained the pec pads + eclipse fluid products and finally managed to remove the dust from the Sensor (though it took 5 pads). Everything fantastic!

Unfortunately I took a sky shot sometime later and then noticed a big spec of dirt right in the centre of the picture. It would seem to be that dust/debri is falling from the viewfinder.

Oh well, time to get the pec pads out again. ;)

That made me chuckle, which by the way hurt like hell as the dentist spent most of the morning drilling holes in my perfectly good tooth, so he could drain an absess(sp?). I'm in far more pain now than i was in before i went lol!
