I was just outside taking some pics of my new Harley and when I copied over the pics to my pc they are all date stamped 5/31/2006. I checked the time and date on both the camera and my comp and both are correct.

I am missing something here?

Double check the camera that you're not 12 hours off (2 AM vs. 2 PM).

The camera is set on 24hr time so if it's 2 in the afternoon, set the time to 1400.

Yes I did. The filedate and EXIF photo date are two different things. Anytime you copy a file over to your computer from the camera/card reader, the FILE date will be the date you copied it/altered it. Look at the EXIF info and you will see that the date of the photo is correct.

Your computer just treats any photo file like it would a Word/Excel or text file, for example, when you copy/move/alter it. Ignore the file date.

OK I have to clarify this. I took some pictures yesterday, 5/30/2006 around 8:00pm. When I copied them to my computer the time/date stamp was 5/31/2006. My computer time/date was correct (I pull the time/date from a U.S. Navy NTP server). The EXIF data was also saying 5/31/2006 but the camera menu date/time was reading 5/30/2006.

Make sense now?

Not much more than it did before. ;)

Taking only EXIF info into consideration, you are then saying that your camera date and the EXIF dates are different. What are you viewing the EXIF dates with?

So you take photo right now and the EXIF date is the next day?

I seem to remember that a version of Adobe Bridge hosed dates. Is that a possibility here?

Just took a photo and hooked the camera up to my pc. Went into "My Computer", double clicked on "Canon 30D" (So im looking at the file date stamps of the camera not the pc) and they are saying 6/1/2006.

I will copy the pics over and check the exif dates in a few...

Try that.

The only times I connect my cameras to the PC is to change names or to change PF's on the MKII. I xfer photos from my cameras to the PC via a card reader.

I have a 30D and do not have that problem.

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I took pics on my 30D yesterday 5/31/06 and copied them to my PC. When I opened them in PSE 2.0 the date read 06/01/06, yet the time on the PC and on the camera are correct. Not sure what is going on here.
I'll investigate further. Could it be how PSE 2.0 is reading the date/time info?

Photoshop has never handled EXIF information well...I'll try some other experiments this evening with my 30D.
