350D Rebel XT Software Issue?

On occassion, actually quite frequently my 350D just freezes up requiring me to open the battery compartment to release and reinsert the battery which makes the camera operational again. I have the latest 1.03 software version and the problem is not confined to any particular settings or shooting scenario.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, what is causing it and is there a fix?

Have an xt too but havn't encounter this problem. Have you tried contacting Canon? If it's under warranty I'd definitely have it checked out. If you're like me though, the thought of being without the camera while they are "looking into it!" doesn't set too well!
