I notice that in the exif on my 1D, the name of the previous owner appears.
I checked the manual on how to change this, but couldn't find anything. It's probably in the software manual, but I figure I would ask here before having to dig that out.
I hooked the camera up to the pc via usb, but I assume I also need to install the software?
Thanks for answering a dumb question.

Yes, you need to install the software. It's in Zoom Browser under "My Camera", IIRC. EVU similarly. EOS Utilities as "Camera Settings".

Remember to have the camera connected and powered - somebody else pointed out on a previous post that the menu option does not appear otherwise.

Also remember that if you're going to be changing the name on your new 1DmkII, you need to use the firewire cable, not the USB cable.

No.....sorry Drisley. You will have to keep my name on all your picture files. If you do make any money with this 'hobby', you must immediately send me a royalty cheque or the camera (whichever you prefer!!). Just kidding of course!!;)

Yes, I had to install the firewire and wia drivers and zoombrowser. All this to get rid of the name of the previous owner!

Wow, Drisley. You got Schmoelzel's camera? That's like Jimmy Hendrix's guitar or Rembrandt's paint brushes! It should be in a museum somewhere. Probably will be worth big $$$ someday.

What application are you using to do the conversion?

If you choose "save as" instead of "save for web" the user name will be saved in the jpg. It's viewable when you look at the "description" in the file info when in CS2.

I just click save in the RAW conversion part in CS2 and it did save every info of the picture except Camera body and owner's name

I just tried that, and the name is saved with the jpg.
But again, it's not in the EXIF part, it's in the Description when you open the image in PS and select File>File Info.
