My first time with my 20d underwater. Shot in st.eustatius. Fish are a lot like birds, you get a lot a tail shots. I did manage a few keepers. These squirrel fish just flowed over the reef like black birds. c&c ?

IKE's are well made. You have to be REALLY careful with the orings. One hair, fibre ,anything & the 20d is toast. I have flooded my NikonosV , but if you're lucky you can rinse it out (with a lot of prayer) & shoot manually till you get home. 20d....10-22 canon , 17-85 canon , 50 1.8 canon, 70-200f4L , 100 2.8, ikelite u/w housings & strobes, 17"powerbook

Turks & Caicos (west caicos, saltcay, grand turk) have some awsome walls. That is a rush to look down 2000+ feet. Personally I think it spanks the Caymans. ![]() St.Eustatius is good. On a Caribbean scale of 1-10, maybe a 6. The diving is fairly easy, most stuff around 60ft. Short boat ride A+. A couple of good wrecks. Saba the sister island ,I liked better. The people, diving, hotel(Jullianas) a solid 9 IMHO. Statia has a big problem, Labor. It's a very small island (2500 residents) , 2 mom & pop hotels (maybe 20 rooms each). The hotel staff are forming a union. I mean WT? are they thinking. I stopped tipping after 2 days of general nastiness. I don't like to spread negativity but I wish I had known ahead of time. That's one drawback with travel, they already have most of your money before you get there. ![]() Yeh I agree.....it's such a shame when things like that happen and spoil a place. I'm ver jealous.. one, because you took pics underwater in beautiful sea, and two, because you have the balls to take your camera underwater!
