I am curious as to whether that has worked out. Ive seen the adapters (at adorama)and I know of course that you are limited in the features you can use with them, but would i be accurate if I promoted my old (but very nice) Vivitar series one 100-500mm zoom as being adaptable to eos AF cameras, especially digital ones? I had wanted to do this myself to a newer camera (like a 20D) but havent been able to afford one yet, and am trying to unload the lens on other forums. I just dont want to mislead anyone.

I know it can be done, i just wonder if anyone on here has. With a doubler , it sure would be neat if it did.

If I understand what you're hoping to do, you want to be able to say the lens can be converted to EF mount, not mounted on an EOS with an adapter? The commercially available adapters either deprive you of infinity focus or have a slight (about 1.25x) teleconverter effect, and the lens will only function in fully manual mode (or stopped-down Av). Unless they get the Canon (discontinued, rare, and expensive; probably won't fit that lens) the other alternatives are fairly mediocre. It would be possible for someone mechanically inclined and with access to a good shop to make/convet the mount to EOS, but this would not be something for the inexperienced. If yhey're skilled enough to be able to do this, they know they could do it already. If they're not, they will misunderstand whatever you say.
