Some unique Tasmanian fauna...no preaching...for your info only

The Bettong...
(Bettongs (Bettongia gaimadi) typically reach 2 kg in weight, and are only found in the eastern half of Tasmania. It became extinct on the mainland (Australia) in the early decades of the twentieth century, largely because of predation by foxes and large scale land clearance.

and
The Tasmanian Devil Sarcophilus harrisii
The world's largest surviving carnivorous marsupial, the devil has a thick-set, squat build, with a relatively large, broad head and short, thick tail.
Devil Disease: A devastating disease is sweeping through Tasmania's devil population, killing more than 90% of adults in high density areas and 40-50% in medium-low density areas.

The Devils could well be on the way out...enjoy these amazing animals while you can.
