Any comments would be greatly appreciated as I am novice at digital photography.

As far as accessories I have purchased the lensmate collar and Hoya UV filter. Now, I am seriously considering shelling out the $$ to buy the aux flash 420EX. Have a 18 month at home and it is hard to catch him with in focus with existing lighting.

Regards

Zia

420EX is an excellent device. I would recommend it to anyone. However, it won't solve any focusing issues.

I love #41, the closeup of your little guy! I bet it would look great in black and white, too!

Thanks for the input.

So far I have been taking the pics in P mode with manual WB setting. I have been staying away from flash photos.

I've got a 2 year old. The 420ex made a night and day difference in giving enough (even) light to slow my little one down enough to get some good shots.

Get a diffuser too. Just the simple kind that snap on the front will do. This will increase the flexibility of the flash enormously allowing you to use it much closer to your subject (and as your sample photos demostrate, the closer you get to your kids when photographing them, the better), without such harsh shadows..
