Just received a "Wimberley Plamp" and I think it might be a useful addition for macro work.
As usual it's vastly overpriced in the UK ( £30 compared to $30 in the US ).
That aside I think I'm going to like this Plamp.

Nice steady picture Cameron. Looks like the plamp plamps plampin' well :)

How sturdy is it? Can it hold up reflectors like they say it can, even horizontally?

Darn, Cameron, I was hoping to see you "playing with your plamp". But, that is one of the best flower macros I've seen, absolutely beautiful. So, what is a plamp?

Nice shot Cameron ! I purchased and received my "Plamp" last week, and have no doubts, about it's usefulness. They are fairly "rigid", but I will agree, slightly over-priced. I googled "Loc-Line", which is the flexible tubing used, and found a plumming supplier, and purchased the same length of tubing, at half the cost. I also purchased the "pliers" to connect added sections of tubing, as anyone who has tried can tell you, this is some "tough" stuff. I bought some clamps at "Wal-mart" a year ago, 16 various sizes for $4.88, and some "chip-clips" for a couple bucks, and am going to put together my "home-made version" in the next couple days. When completed, and "tested", I intend on posting results in "Accesories". It is rigid and should hold most reflectors
with-in resonable size. Had no problem holding my "Sycamore Blossom".

Such a beautiful flower Cameron and nicely taken as well. Colours are gorgeous.

The plamp BTW is an accessory bit like an articulating arm that is used used to hold macro subjects to make a good sharp shot.
