File names from the 30D?

Is there anyway in side the camera (30D) to set it so the file names start with something other than "IMG". That way the files from 2 different cameras won't have the same name.

That's Canon's standard naming convention.

Some software will change the names to something you want as the files are imported. I'm pretty sure some of the Canon software will do that. You can also set one camera to sRGB and the other camera to Adobe RGB.. The one set to Adobe RGB will say _MG instead of IMG....

Ditto that. It'll pick up the serial numbers should you wish.
