My parents got a bull mastiff. His name is Hudson. He's not as innocent as he looks lol.

I love the DOF on this one! Really brings out that innocent look in his face, but I'm sure he's just putting on an act for the camera! What a cutie!

This is the third mastiff they have owned and all of them so far have been big babies. They also had a boxer. Holy crap what a spaz that dog was. The mastiffs have a very personable, quiet way about them. They get along great with my 12 year old daughter but they tend to knock over my younger nieces who are like 1 and 2. They just walk by them and don't realize they weigh a good 100 pounds more and send them careening lol.

As for company they tend to stand at a distance and bark alot. That gets old since they are freaking huge and have voices to match. They usually get put in their room when company comes over so you can carry on a conversation. Even though we train all our dogs to obey voice and hand signals they still will bark at strangers in the house if not put away.

Big. Their current dog is 130. This little guy is on track for at least 150.

The face is priceless, what a perfect expression. I would have gone for a closeup there, but still a great shot.

"I didn't do nothin" Precious. I love these dogs. A few years back I was promised pick of the litter for a Mastiff puppy. I went back to get him and the woman sold them all. I was not happy to say the least but ended up with a sheppard mix that was my best friend for 15 years. So I guess it all worked out.

Absolutely great capture. You should have that printed and framed. Give it to your parents.

I owned a Bullmastiff some years ago. They're big babies as stated. My guy topped out at about 145. He was the same fawn color as this little guy.

One thing to note, they drool. So, expect to have lots of spit rags around.

I'd say their drool comes in three stages,

Slingers -- long strands that end up on your walls and other places when they shake their heads.

Klingers -- when they smell something really good (or they watch you eat) they develop very long strands that just cling on to the side of their mouths.

And, general slobber. Slobber on your couch, clothing etc...

They can be great family dogs but, as stated, they knock over little kids very easily.

Gorgeous puppy and wonderful capture. I don't know a whole lot about bullmastiffs, but I do know lot about Old English Mastiffs (I'm on my second one). They are big babies whose sole goal in life is to be loved and petted.

PhotographyNewb is so right about slobber. With Grace, I've found slingers on my walls far over my head, probably around 6 foot or so. Grace tips the scales at 170, rather large *lap* dog.
