Looks like an authentic crime scene photo.

Wow, that is disturbing! I can`t help but get the feeling this was from the "saw" movie. So I think you accomplished a major goal in photography by getting a reaction.

as for the pic, seems you lost a bit of detail, on the knife or razor.
BW certainly was a great choice for this photo also. goodwork!

kind of disturbing.... i just wish it had the harsh poloroid feel of crime scene photos

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

what did you use for blood? for the blood in the tub i used a latex paint, ketchup, bbq sauce, soy sauce, terriaky sauce, black cherry jello mix, sweet and sour sauce. for the scabby blood i painted her with was corn starch, coco powder, red latex, green latex orange latex, some of that jello mix and water. i tried to get it realistic. this is the color image.

I like the image, the only thing that bothers me is the cut arms position, once she goes unconscious that arm is going to fall into the tub. I would slump her to the tub side closest to the camera then have the arm outside the tub with some smear marks down the side as the arm falls to the outside of the tub. Then you could pool blood under the arm also.
(and I'm also wondering if she really is left handed)...
Beyond the arm position, it's a great shot, I really like it. If for some reason you do find yourself reshooting this, it would be cool to see more of her face.
What did your photography class think of it, or have they seen it yet?

Of the many suicides and attempted suicides I have seen, those persons who cut deep up the insides of the wrists and arms are more, um...messy and more often successful .

Most who cut across the wrist or arms seldom bleed heavily unless the cut nicks the small arteries or goes through the flexor tendons, etc.

The heavy loss of blood makes victums very sleepy prior to death. We find most victims curled up. Exceptions were for those who changed mind and began to panic.

Your image is pretty close accuracy of a suicide otherwise.
