I have been playing around with a few shots of a native new zealand flower. This is an interesting photograph to try and caputre. I love how the flower looks close up, with such a deep red colour. However trying to capture it aginst a dark background is hard and the plant is getting out of season. Anyway enjoy.

Very unusual flower Mark - also very beautiful. I really wouldnt change a thing on any of these except maybe bump the brightness on 2 just a hair. Either way, very nice shots.

Not really the time of year for flowery shots now :)

The Pohutukawa is known as New Zealands Christmas Tree but you'd get shot if you cut one down :D
Everyone still uses a pine or marcrocarpa :D

Beautiful shots and flower. I like the 3rd the best.
I've never seen it before. I guess cuz I'm in New Jersey USA!
