These large flowers have been openning in our garden these last few days. A very vibrant and delicate flower, they don't last very long and today's rain will hasten their end. Still a couple of dozen to open though so hopefully the better light will return.

Taken with the Canon 350 and Canon 200mm F2.8L with a 25mm Kenko Extension Tube. The wet shot also had fill flash at -1 f stop exposure comp ( Canon 580EX).

beautiful shots
my all time favourite flowers are poppies
(I think)
I love them for their colour and delicate petals and how they appear by the sides of the roadways where the ground is rough making a great splash of colour in some places maybe badly needing it

I especially love #3 and #4
the detail in # 3 (bud) is wonderful
looks like the poppy is wearing a cap and even grinning
love how the stem is shown also
difficult to photograph because of their flimsiness in the slightest breeze
really lovely shots, all of them
