This was the best shot that I got the other night when a big thunderstorm went through. This was my first attempt and lightning photography. The only editing done was adjusted exposure level and white balance, and I cloned out the power lines that stretched accross the photo. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks!
- Tom

Nice shot. I like the color shading from black on the left to blue on the right. You could try a slight crop to reduce the amount of sky on the left. Also, you are not using the maximum amount of space allowed (800 pixels width).

Cool shot. I've been lucky enough to score lightning shots in the past. What I typically do is set the shutter to bulb and just wait it out!~

Thanks for all the kind compliments!

JubeJube:: what I did for this particular shot, was set my shutter speed to 4 seconds. Then I would just keep hitting the shutter button (I was using a remote shutter release by the way). The lightning was frequent enough that I would get a capture about every 10 or 15 shots.

Thanks!!
- Tom
