Camera won't turn on

My G2 seemed to lock up, and won't turn on. Both batteries are charged, CF card is OK.
I took one picture, flash worked OK, with the camera on, I installed the 420ex speed lite, which was also on, then the camera locked up, off.
Has anyone seen this before. Is there a reset sequence? Using the PC cable to camera resulted in nothing, can't turn camera on with PC either.
