None of these are meant to be exposed to weather extremes. Canon 1 series bodies used in conjunction with certain weather-sealed lenses are suited for moderate exposures....but even so, most people forced to shoot in such extremes resort to some sore of protection such as http://www.stormjacket.com/ People that know me call me Dan

I have a lowepor AW-200 sling bag and have taken my 300D when I had it and my 20D on many ROUGH ATV trailes and snowmobiling as well with no problems and I have fallen off my sled onto my camera befor and had no damage the the camera just my back EOS 20D

None of them are weather sealed nor are they pro series bodies which are designed to take substantial abuse. ^ My thoughts exactly. Taking one of those bodies into pouring rain is like wearing suede shoes in that weather, they're gonna get screwed up. 1D Mark II N | Sigma 12-24mm | 17-40mm f4L | Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 | 50mm f1.4

Either go 1 series or get a waterproof cover to keep it safe at all times. As for scratches & bumps, the D70 & 300D are plastic bodies while the 10D is magnesium. So that pretty much answers that question. Although it's not something i'd do everyday, i have previously taken my 300D out into some fairly horrendous weather just to get a shot(for work). I employed the help of a plastic bag and scotch tape and both my camera and not-so-cheap lens survived the ordeal.

As for scratches, the rubber finish on the 10D and the D70 both seem much more resilient than the shiny raw plastic on the 300D. Gallery: http://tomyi.smugmug.com/
