Well, you could argue whether this is a sports photo or not, but I'll let the judge decide..:)

Catch me if you can

Another shot from Lancaster PA. We were on our way to the farmer's market but noticed that there was some sort of marathon going on. Meant to be a panning shot with the subject in full focus but instead, just got the head. Still thought that the motion blur effect turned out pretty interesting though so here you go:

Goal in the way!!!!

Camera: Canon PowerShot S2 IS, F4.0 1/250 ISO 50
Shooting Date/Time: Jun 10th, 2006 11:48:36 AM
AF Mode : Continuous Shooting
Post Processing: Cropped, Resized and Joined.

This composite picture was created from two photos shooted at my job's recreative area. One of the soccer games played all weekends. For me, this was the play of the game, a excellent goal from a free kick in front of the area. The upper section shows the ball in the way to the net and lower section shows the goalkeeper defetead in the groud and the ball in heart of the net.
I hope this picture don't break the challenge rules, because is only one picture, but with two images. I didn't know other way to show the main idea of the moment that join the two pictures in one.

Blokarts are a New Zealand invention, sort of a small land yaucht. They are becoming very popular all over the world, there was a recent world champs help in the US earlier in the year.
This was shot at a local park during a Race, from the back of a Tandom cart, which is basicly two carts coupled together.

RESULTS

Thnaks to all who participated. Good job one and all!

Here are the results:

1) snowrdr - "OMRRA Open Supersport" - Great composition and storyline on the picture. I especially like that I can see the eyes and where they are looking on the front driver.

2) moppie - "Attitude" - Excellent photo. Love the way the driver is poking is head out. It really makes the picture.

3) t-bonestahl - "Hard walk home" - What can I say it says it all - great picture.

Honorable mentions go to cool_dude07 (give it a title next time) and dyle.

By the way, if I were less honorable, I would have not chosen snowrdr. Picking your picture as the winner only widened the gap between you and the rest of us in the total standings! But the picture was too good not to put there. At least you won't get any points out of this week's contest!
