Hi,

This is Ojos (Spanish for eyes). Ojos used to be an indoor cat (clean and always pure white). After this shot, I had to clean up his face due to scars, dirt, etc. I couldn’t do much for his dirt tinted fur but did lightened it a bit.

I know the DOF is too shallow and the background has the window glare. The cat was sitting on a piano bench, which was slightly under the piano. He wasn’t interested in having his picture taken but I managed to get a few like this one.

I would love any suggestions as to any more correcting that can be done to the image. I still have the RAW copy to work with. Here is the camera data: 50mm at f/2.5, ISO 800, and 1/250 sec.

Thanks much.

I found this info about mixed eye colors if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterochromia (external link)

A simple but very nice photo. The second edit is pretty good I think. I keep thinking there's something about the second though - either a touch too bright or a lack of contrast in the cat? It's probably just my eyes or my crappy monitor so take no notice.

Have you tried "white balance? If the cat is very white I would think that if you white balance off of him it might correct the color?

Not very good myself with post processing, but thats where I would start, OH, and lightening up the picture as you did as well...

My sister-in-law has a cat that looks just like yours - two different colored eyes and an extra claw on one of his paws.

This cat is one of a breed known, strangely enough, as an "Odd-eyed white":)

I like your shot very much, simple & sweet. The genetic trait that does this is fairly common in cats. The middle of these 3 cats (all brothers & sisters) has the same trait.

Great shots, the second seems a little bright to me perhaps.

I love photographing cats, was also wondering if they are all deaf?
