I am very frustrated with print colors being different and my goal is accurate photo editing.

I think you need to get the right profile for your monitor instead. I use ilford profiles for my printers and I'm very, very happy with the colour. Follow their directions to the T.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

A printer profile is only valid for a particular printer model / inks / paper combination.

Thanks for the info everyone. I have an old monitor that was the best out there 6 years ago and it's color is beautiful [Sony triniton] However when logging into my friends PC on a flat screen my albums surprised me, as they were darker, less color, more black, and looking not the same at all! It made me realize that we may all be editing our photos to something totally different than what others see. I am unsure of what to do, because I'd like a flat screen, but havn't found one that is as good. What others see is important too, but my photos print pretty close to what I see, so I am leary of change regardless of what they see.

That's what I want, correct color, not pumped up and "brilliant".

I bought a LG Flatron LCD 19" monitor last weekend for $300 bucks and I find the colors to be beyond excellent! Hey it has to be, because even POTN looks better :)
