I want to modify the shutter button on my Drebel. I am completely satisfied with it except for the harsh press between the half-press and the full press. I want a button which is "completely fluid" Nikon F6 has it, the 1 series cameras have it... my A-1 has it.

I'm guessing both the rebel's and 1D's buttons have 3 contacts?

Or alternatively - is there a way to just modify the original shutter button?

I got the idea from this thread:

Changing the button, even if they interchange, will not fix your problem. You would need to change the springs and strut in the release. That is, if it is like the 1 series.
