I second the motion for a get together. Looks like my meetup group has sort of died for the moment at least.

What about Hugh Taylor Birch State Park or Anne Kolb Nature Center?

I've never been to either but would like to.

http://floridastateparks.org/hughtaylorbirch/ (external link)

Hugh Taylor Birch does have a fee to get in:

Fee Schedule

Admission Fee:

$6.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle.

$4.00 Single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle.

$2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.

I like that there's access to the beach though too, so should have loads of shooting opportunities whether you're in to landscapes, nature, birds, or almost anything.

I understand that Anne Kolb is free.

Just a couple of suggestions. I'm open to whatever you guys want to do, although Broward sounds like a good option (and not just cuz I live there), because it's in the middle.

I guess we're going to have to wait for the weather to clear up though. They're predicting big rain and high winds for the weekend.

We also need to start thinking of dates (weather permitting of course). It's almost snowbird time, so hopefully we can do this before every place is mobbed.

My first place vote would be Hugh Taylor Birch, but I'll likely go along with whatever you guys decide.
