Hello POTN members, for some reason when I try to open a pic from adobe brdige, it opens with Illustrator instead of CS2

This started happening after I lost my internet connection during a thunderstorm, I was down for about a month, now I have this problem with Adobe Bridge.

Anybody know how I can get this back working properly, hopefully without reinstalling, if not I guess I just won't be using adobe bridge.

Thanks in advance.

Are these TIFF's or JPG's that you are tyring to open. I can't see how a power outage would change your settings but god knows that strange things occur in our computers.

In Bridge if you go to Edit - Preferences and then to File Associations you should be able to change how it opens. Mine for JPG and TIFF is set to Photoshop as the default.

Ah! Thank you! I was in the general area, lol

I was thinking maybe it had something to do with not being connected to the internet, my internet card got damaged, once I replaced it and got back online adobe bridge started doing this.

I was trying to open Jpeg files. Again, thanks a lot!

There is Photoshop CS2 and then there is Creative Suite 2 or CS2. What you're looking for is Photoshop CS2

Yes I know, I just didn't type it all out, but its not an option. Only Illustrator, windows and one other one.

Try using restore to default if that doesn't work select browse (if you are using Windows as your OS) goto c:/program file/adobe/photoshop cs2/photoshop.exe (the one w/ the feather as an icon) if you use the default installation.

Ok, thanks for your help lostdoggy, I'll try it when I get home, I did select browse a few times but it kept asking me to choose something to open and of course I was lost at that point:confused: if that doesn't do it I'll try the restore to default, after re-reading your post, I'll do the restore to default first.

Thanks.
