Okay, I have this G3 and it's about 3, 3.5 years old. It's been amazing. Dependable. Wonderful.

However, recently the battery has been completely drained (after a full charge) when I go to use it. I'm not sure how long it has taken for the camera to lose power but I did notice that even when off...the orange indicator light stays on. It will be green while charged and plugged into the charger but turn to a slow then fast flashing orange when unplugged. And then the light just stays on even when I turn camera off.

I can pop the memory door open and it goes off (same with removing battery) and when I pop it back in, the orange light goes on.

Is this an indicator that the battery is shot or is this my camera acting wiggy?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tried using a different battery? My original batteries for my G1 and G3 don't hold charges very well. Other than that, I'd try using an external battery charger. Take volt readings off the batteries when your camera indicates full charge. Then take a volt reading after using an external charger.
