It is just a bridge outside of Dubrovnik, Croatia but I liked the look of it's suspension cables.

The first shot is very nice. The second one suffers from haze. Would a polarizer have helped this shot?

You are right about the haze Bill. It was quite bad at the time (our ship was contributing to the problem). I'm not sure that a CP would have helped.

I like the first one best also Kevin. I included the second one to provide an idea as to the size of the bridge.

Yes Becca it does remind me of photos I've seen of the Zakim bridge. No, we did not go under it. Below is a photo I took from midships shooting toward the stern. As you can see the ship would not fit under it but we got darn close as we backed up to head out of the harbor. Wow, the things they can do with these big ships these days.

I don't think a CPL would've helped any with the haze, I think you're just stuck with it in that situation. Architectually it is a really neat looking bridge.

Hi Skip,

It's kinda scary to think that those little cables are all that's holding it up.

Looks like the engineers were trying to do something impressive, what with only one dominant vertical tower over such a large span. However your view from a distance illustrates how ugly it is from an asthetics perspective in the overall scenery. Not the gracious curves of the Golden Gates but rather a spiders web at the one end.

Interesting photo.
