Very electrifying! Pretty neat how you can see it pass through two layers of clouds.

Amazing work! How did you 'time' the lightning?

Woah, that one looks pretty close!

Great capture, your framing came out great! Was that luck, or is that cropped?

Thank you all.. I kinda smiled really quickly as soon as I saw the lightning, one of those shots oyu just know you got...

I can't claim I did.. I've seem people with cable releases do it, but it's too fast for me. I was doing 20 second exposurs where I thought the lightning would be next. I actually got lightning quite a few times, but most was sheet (so the sky just gets brighter, if you don't know the term...;) )
This one happened 3 seconds into my exposure, so I just stopped it right there, no need to brighten the frame.

It's definently in (small) town...
I was partially predicting where they'd be. That's cropped, but lightly so, it definently took up a good size of the picture. My only complaint it that it was on the edge of the picture, so if I ever wanted to center it for some reason, it would be quite narrow.

Overall, thank you all.:)

Very nice capture. I shoot lightning every thunderstorm coming thru IL. (which has been non-exhistant since easter). I shoot 20-30sec. exposures as well and typically using f9 to f11. I change the ISO depending on the distance to lightning and shorter shutter speed.

Very nice... Soon as monsoons roll through here I'm going to be trying for a lot of shots... I just gotta find time, when the storms come through to find a spot outside the city with cactii since I'm not a fan of telephone poles! You did a great job here :)

Shalom,
Joel
