Just a couple of shots from the last session before everyone went home.

No lighting to speak of, just a couple of red spots lighting up the ceiling and I havn't got around to learning about custom white balance yet .

Canon 10D, 50mm 1.8
ISO 3200
f1.8

Too much noise to keep in colour but came up OK in BW.

And 2 more...

How do you usually convert to B&W to bring the photo alive?

I think they have a wonderful "high speed black and white film" feeling. I do think your girlfriend needs to get you the 85mm f/1.8!

Thanks.

I've got to sell the 300D before I get anything else :)

Try using an adjustment layer, choose channel mixer and tick monochrome for the black & white. As for the lens, there are ways and means - I got my husband to let me use the Visa card to get my 350D and Tokina lens, paid it off out of savings and promised to pay the savings account back as and when I could - totally confused him with science and I love the 350D! :D and of course I tell him often he's the greatest! ;)
