Hi there,

My wife makes jewelery and is wanting to sell it on eBay.
I am just wondering on the best way to photograph them. i.e. macro lens with MT-24EX or nifty fifty etc.

My thoughts were to put the jewelery in a box and use the macro and flash but really not sure.

Regards Darren

I use a softbox I built out of PVC pipe and a polyester/cotton blend white material to diffuse the lights. The lights are $5.96 clamp on shop lights from Wal-Mart with 100w GE Reveal bulbs. I use a piece of black or white plexiglass as a base for the jewelry and loose gemstones. The lens I use is a Sigma 150mm macro lens. You could get away with any macro lens really or a non-macro with extension tubes. Depending on what is needed I may use my Macro Bellows to do the shot if I need some serious magnification.
