If you update the firmware on the camera, and then don't like it, how do you go back to the original one?

I didn't realize that there were issues with any Canon firmware updates that would make someone want to uninstall.

Jun 11, 2006 14:45 | #4 I was talking about original firmware that came with the camera. On the first body I got over a year ago, I installed the latest firmware, just like I was suppose to, and the first shot I took after that was WAY underexposed. I set it to +3 stops and took another, and it was about -2 from being right. Opps. Back it went.

So the replacement has had the original one in it, because I was scared to change because I don't have the origianl firmware version anywhere, unless it is hidden on the CDs somewhere. Every camera body that comes out of the plant has the most current firmware installed on it. So not all new bodies are going to have the same firmware installed, it all depends on when that particular body was made. So, if you know what firmware version your camera came with, you may be able to download that version from the Canon site. The older versions won't be readily accessible but there is a way to get to them. What camera do you have and what version firmware came with it? ...Leo
