Trying to print on 5 x 7 photo paper and neither one of my printer setups have that as a size. Is it called something else? You know A3, or Photo L or something, I found nothing in the printer documentation. I guess I'm just not printer savy.

Nope, it is merely an example of the 'digital generation' not having ever been exposed to existence of such a size, and thereby neglecting to put it into the specs for the printer they designed!

What kind of printer do you have? I would think that any photo printer would have the more common photo print sizes as one of the choices in the printer setup panel. I know the Canon i9900 printer does.

Are you trying to use the printer manufacturer's included photo print software to do the printing? Perhaps the manufacturer does not make paper precut to 6x7 dimensions, so it includes only the 4x6 and 8x10 sizes that they do supply, in the sizes supported that the printing application. If you start up a general photo viewer that has to deal with many brands and models of printers, that software will have 5x7 support.

I'm sure my old Canon i850 did not have a 5x7 option :-(

My guess it's an older printer and the drivers don't have a 5x7 option.

I've found a way to make it work but my printers are fairly new. Brother 420 all in one,and a Canon i2000, both 2005 models I'd guess.

5x7 in the printing industry is called B6.

i'll attach a paper and envelope measurement chart here that is in a very old resource book i have from my early days as a graphic designer. i keep the book because every once in awhile i end of designing some kind of invitation or something probono for my choir: i am retired and not seeking that kind of work but it's nice to share my knowledge bank. Cheers!!
