After stiching together, I also spent some time with it in Photoshop. Here's the original picture... I like them both for different reasons... The Photoshop'd one is not very natural but has a design quality that I like. The original is quite natural with a rustic beauty.

I'm not drawn to the roots in the first shot. I'm drawn to the rocks. The thin branches all seem to be pointing to the rocks.

That's right... I manipulated the photo in a number of ways, including adding the branches that point to the rocks.
