thanks Neil Jim and renee...
they only sting you in self defence....... like jim says it's screaming muppets waving their hands and trying to shoo them away that get stung....just leave them alone and they will go on their merry little buzzing way.
(they don't even really mind you sticking a macro lens 3 inches from their butt :))

This is Thanksgivingish becuase we were very thankful our 3 month preemie son made it safe and sound, home for Thanksgiving last year.
