oooops I just looked closer it is suposed to not be macro. I will leave this and I think TPBM is anything not macro as long as it is also not corn, spider or insect.
Hope all works out Athena

Just for the record this is the last day to enter Athena's million dollar macro abstract contest. That would make her happy.

TPBM is your choice

Just a thought... Here is one of Bills original "rules" from his first post.

Rules are simple: We critique a photo we haven't seen and the next person to post will post that photo with a critique of the photo below them.

I for one would like to have my photos critiqued more often. Most of the time it's just posted and we continue on with the next. The conversational aspect of this thread makes it addicting as well as trying to beat out our fellow POTN members. However, this website is great for learning and I think TPBM could be a great tool for that as well. Could we all try to offer CC in amidst our fun?
Thanks! :)

I appreciate theague's request. I know what I have in mind when I take a photo but seldom do I ever know what it makes other's feel

Looks like crap:lol:   I agree comments are great. I comment a lot but then I am sure people are like "oh shut up short"

Really nice image. I like the panoramic crop and the nice muted colors. Working in thirds and not having the mountain in the center may look good.

Wu, that's a beauty. Was it done with your brief run-in with the 30D?

I honestly don't know how to "improve" your shot. I like the clarity of the bottom left and the rich color. Then as the petals go away from that spot they lose focus and the color loses it's density. I think it's beautiful!

So are you saying working in thirds in the horizontal direction? So move the Mountain to the left or the right?

And with that, it's 2 minutes till 5pm and I'm LEAVING!!

See you all tomorrow!

Thank you, theague,
Yeah, that's from the 30D and some really bad (cheap poor quality) enlarging diopters.
I was mainly going for form, color, and light so the shallow DOF was what I wanted. I had to play a bit to get the bottom left to soften to my tastes.
I enjoy abstracts and shots such as this but I'm always afraid to post them since we strive so hard to sharpness. Just like I was reticent to post the orchid yesterday. I know these things are not to the tastes of many.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Also, theague, I too appreciate the panoramic quality of your post. I am not sure about losing the forground (evergreen?) on the right if you off center the mt. what I have told you about your work continues to hold for me. :)

No, we dont need to try and make it so easy people post every few seconds...a little bit of challenge and interpretation is a good thing...lets make people think and look through thier stuff to find the "right" photo...

Ok. Feedback. Sheesh, now the pressure is on. Before, it was 'post whatever you want that fits the request, or that you want to share'.
The pressure...oh the pressure.

This is one of my favorite photos, and a favorite of my family, but technically speaking, what do you all think about it?

TPBM is most likely the worst picture you have ever taken. :)
