Anyone think that the 100mm Macro would be pretty good for taking portraits and stuff? Studio stuff? It's f2.8, right? Fire some info my way so I can have it all filed in my brain if the questions come. As I said when I was looking for my 70-200, "Sell me this lens".

If Renee wants a lens to do both macro and portraits with her 350, I suggest the EF-S 60mm macro lens. Its an outstanding lens (I have one that I use with my 20D) and on her 350D it's the equivalent of 96mm, which is good for portraits. The 100mm macro lens, while also outstanding, is better for portraits on a FF sensor camera (like the 5D). On the 350D, it would be 160mm equivalent, which is too tight for portraits.

Have fun shopping! :D

Cool. I'll keep that in mind. I think that she will be doing more portrait work than macro, so I'm trying to come up with ideas for versitile toys. ;)

Hey all, hope everyone had or is having a good day. Sounds like Jamie did and even better after brown arrives tomorrow, eh? Some great pictures since last night, very nice selective coloring from bunches of you. I'll be watching and playing as I finish the project that was giving me headaches the other night.

If you want to post her gear list and what type of work she wants most to do, I'd be happy to look over it and make suggestions.
