Taken with a 300mm zoom and I think it is artistic. If so TPBM is abstract

[edit] I just noticed the artists signature on the bottom of the vase I took in that shot. Really cool. I did not notice the signature when I was taking the picture or until just now. Shows you how much I pay attention.

I would say you EACH should have a good tripod.
Other suggestions are:
a good flash (430 or if you have the extra cash 580, although both are very nice)
perhaps a bracket for it (+ the shoe cord)
a reflector (I use photoflex litediscs)
a diffuser

The 50mm lens that she already has is an ideal portrait lens on the 350D. Are you considering any of the EF-S lenses? The 10-22 and the 17-85 are both quite nice.

Looks pretty artistic to me Renee. I'm not sure what it is, but definately artistic.

Jack

My eyes see well enough, and the camera is capable enough, now if they would just work together.

Thanks Athena, you are so sweet. I am going to look into all of those.

Brad left out that I have some pretty nice studio lights now for portrait photography. I have not had much practice using them though.

[edit] I will let you all know what I end up getting

Wow, I was way off. I was thinking maybe some strawberry and chocolate syrup with a splash of water and a swirl of some green for added color. That'll teach me to stop trying to figure out the subject, and just enjoy it.
Maybe I need a snack too. :)
