Hiya to all,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, after a day of great torment, anguish, bloody minded stupidity on my part I think the penny has finally dropped at long last!!!
Everything you guys & girls told me was spot on but what I failed to realize (numb nuts) was that when I saved my changes they're saved in my documents & I have to import them from there, anyway lets hope I've done it right in this post.
I can't believe it's taken me so long to sus this out, I think I'm so used to the other editing prog & the way it worked that I just couldn't see the wood for the trees, Na a bad workman always blames his tools, I'm just a numb nuts, lol.
I've had play with editing this pic C&C most welcome????

Anyways thanks to all once again from a now quiet household ( my poor wife eh )
Cheers
PS forgot to say #2 is the original
Mark

Making progress. The first one is pretty damn good, the colours are very pastel. #2 has a odd colour balance, by the looks of it a strong magenta tone. I had a bash at it in PS, trying to more correct the colour balance. What do you think of this?

Glad you got the pic sizing sorted :)
#3 looks excellent esp from a noise point of view but I think #1 is a better colour balance- normally these flies are fairly yellow/gold coloured with mid red eyes.

I agree Brian, but not having the original image, and not knowing this type of fly (and what it looks like colourwise) didn't help me when trying to correct things for Mark. I simply couldn't get rid of the unnatural magenta tones :( He's shooting jpeg as well, so he can't correct the colour balance issues during post processing as easy as RAW :(

Hiya Dave,Brian,
Hell I'm glad I got the sizing sorted to along with my ever suffering family & friends, thought I was goin mad!! anyway all's well that ends well eh.
not sure how those colours came about Dave, jus one of those thing I guess, tell you what, that Photo Shop Elements 4 is good compared to my old editing prog but there was no way I was goina get that CS2 version not at that price bloody hell its costly & far to in-depth for my poor old brain. thats a good try at sorting the colours.
Cheers for now
Mark

Yeah, Photoshop CS2 is very expensive. Elements is very good though, and does a lot of what Photoshop does for a fraction of the price. It's a very powerful piece of software and you'll grow into using it I think!

Hiya Dave,
I'm well impressed by 'Elements 4' I'm getting used to it slow but sure, I think, apart from that initial glitch with the 'Save Prob'!!!! Trouble is everything is so new to me so tiz all a bit of a struggle in the brain department !!!
Somebody years ago once said to me, 'Mark everything is easy if you know how to do it, never put someone down just 'cause they don't know or can't do this or that, we've all had to learn everything that we do & know in our lives so spare a little time for those who need help'!!
Which at the time I poo pooed 'cause I was young big headed & thought I knew everything ha ha ha what a pratt I was.
Anyway I'm waffling on ere so I'll shut up now.
Cheers for now
Mark

hehehe Mark, that saying is a good one and I was just using it with a customer of mine the other day. She was saying she was stupid cos she didn't know how to do something with one of our Dymo machines. I corrected her promptly :) People aren't stupid. They might be slow to learn, have bad memories, or do some things better than others, but they're not stupid.

You'll get used to Photoshop Elements eventually, it's still a very big learning curve (or at least I'd consider it so). I can't think of any online tutorials, if I see any, I'll let you know.
